What Postline collects

For posts it published, Postline collects engagement numbers from the networks that share them:

  • Likes
  • Comments
  • Shares
  • Views and impressions
  • Saves, where the network reports them

It also collects follower counts for each channel, once a day, so you can see growth over time.

Engagement numbers are available for 16 networks, including X, Bluesky, Mastodon, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest and Reddit. LinkedIn, Discord, Telegram, Slack and some blogs don't share post statistics through their APIs.

Postline also tracks its own numbers for every channel: posts sent, posts that failed, posts queued, and clicks on tracked links (see Link tracking).

How often numbers refresh

Postline refreshes numbers from the networks every 6 hours by default. On a self-hosted server, change this with METRICS_INTERVAL_HOURS.

It refreshes posts published in the last 30 days. Paused channels and channels that need reconnecting are skipped.

To fetch fresh numbers now, choose Refresh numbers on the Overview page. You can do this a few times every 10 minutes.

The Overview page

Open Overview in the sidebar. Choose 7 days, 30 days or 90 days at the top.

SectionWhat it shows
SummaryEngagement, views and impressions, posts published, and the next post coming up
ActivityPosts sent per day (bars) and the engagement they earned (line)
AudienceFollowers now, and the change over the period, for networks that share them
Link clicksClicks on tracked links in posts from the period
Top postsYour best posts by engagement, with likes, comments, shares and views
By channelPosts sent and queued per channel, with engagement
Coming upScheduled posts for the next 14 days

Choose a channel under By channel, or ⋯ → Analytics next to a channel in the sidebar, to open that channel's page. It shows followers over time and a chart for each number the network reports (likes, comments, shares, saves, views, impressions, clicks), plus the posts sent in the period, best first. Post numbers are the latest totals the network reported, counted on the day each post went out. Choose Show as table to see the numbers as a table.

Follower counts appear a few hours after you connect a channel. Use Refresh numbers to fetch them sooner.

Each post's Delivery section in the composer shows whether it was sent on each channel, with a View link to the live post. To get one post's engagement numbers, use the API below.
