- Open Postline and choose Create an account.
- Enter your name, email and a password. You can also sign in with Google or GitHub if the server offers it.
- Optionally enter a Workspace name. If you leave it empty, Postline names it after you, for example "Sam's workspace".
Postline creates the workspace and makes you its owner.
If you were invited to a workspace, open the invite link instead. You join that workspace with the role you were invited as.
2. Confirm your email
Postline sends a confirmation link to your email. Until you confirm, a banner at the top of the app says Confirm your email address. Choose Resend link if the email didn't arrive.
Some servers require a confirmed email before you can connect channels or schedule posts. You can always save drafts.
3. Choose a plan
A new workspace has no plan. Without a plan you can't connect or publish to channels. The app shows Choose a plan to start posting until you pick one.
- Go to Settings → Billing.
- Choose Start free trial on the plan you want.
- Finish checkout on the payment page.
Every plan starts with a free trial (7 days by default). Cancel before it ends and you pay nothing. Only the workspace owner can choose a plan. See Billing and plans for prices and limits.
Self-hosted servers without billing set up have no plans and no limits, so you can skip this step.
4. Connect your first channel
A channel is one account on one network, such as your company's LinkedIn page or your X account.
- In the sidebar, next to Channels, choose + Add.
- Search for the network and pick it.
- Choose Continue to the network and sign in, or fill in the form for networks that use one (for example a Bluesky handle and app password, or a Discord webhook URL).
Only owners and admins can add channels. A network marked Setup needed isn't configured on this server yet.
5. Write and schedule your first post
- Choose + Create post in the sidebar, or click a time slot on the calendar.
- Under Post to, pick one or more channels.
- Write your text. The counters show how many characters each network allows.
- Add images or video if you like.
- Set the Date and time.
- Choose Add to calendar to schedule it, Add to queue to use the channel's next free posting time, or Post now.
Your post appears on the calendar. Postline publishes it at the scheduled time and shows the result in the post's Delivery section.
