What you can post

  • Long-form articles up to 100,000 characters, in Markdown.
  • Up to 10 images. The first image becomes the cover. Other images are added below the text. Video isn't supported.
  • No threads or comments.
  • Per-post settings:
    • Title: required, up to 250 characters.
    • Subtitle: up to 150 characters.
    • Tags: up to 5.
    • Original URL (canonical): if the article was published elsewhere first.

Connect your account

  1. Create a personal access token at hashnode.com/settings/developer.
  2. In Postline, click + Add next to Channels in the sidebar. Only workspace owners and admins can add channels.
  3. Choose Hashnode and paste the Personal access token.
  4. Click Add channel. Each of your publications becomes a channel.

For self-hosters

No server setup is needed. People connect with their own personal access token.

Images are linked from their Postline URL, so APP_URL/uploads/... (or your S3 public URL) must be reachable from the internet.

Analytics and plugs

Postline doesn't collect analytics for Hashnode yet. Plugs aren't available.

Known issues

  • Connecting fails with "This Hashnode account has no publications." if you have none.
  • Every article needs a title.
  • If Hashnode reports an authentication error, the channel is marked as needing a reconnect.
