Threads
Connect Threads to Postline to schedule posts and threads with images or video, and see views, likes, replies and reposts.
What you can post
- Text up to 500 characters per post.
- Up to 20 images or videos. Two or more files make a carousel.
- Threads: extra parts are published as replies, each one replying to the part before it.
Connect your account
- In the sidebar, click + Add next to Channels. Only workspace owners and admins can add channels.
- Choose Threads.
- Click Continue to Threads, sign in and allow access.
For self-hosters
- Create a Meta app with the Threads API use case.
- Register this redirect URL:
{APP_URL}/api/channels/oauth/threads/callback - Set
THREADS_APP_IDandTHREADS_APP_SECRET. - Submit the app for App Review. Until it's approved, only the app's test users can connect.
Threads downloads media from its public URL, so APP_URL/uploads/... (or your S3 public URL) must be reachable from the internet.
Analytics and plugs
Postline collects, per post: views, likes, replies (shown as comments), and reposts plus quotes (shown as shares). It also tracks your follower count.
Plugs:
- Auto-repost: not supported.
- Follow-up: supported. Postline replies with a follow-up once the post reaches the number of likes you set.
Known issues
- Threads downloads media from a public URL. If Postline serves files from a local address, the post fails with a message asking you to deploy Postline to a public address or use S3 storage.
- If Threads can't process the media, the post fails. If processing takes too long, Postline retries.
- Postline refreshes the access token automatically. If the refresh fails, reconnect the channel.
