Connect your Facebook Pages to Postline to schedule posts with images or video, add first comments, and see reactions and shares.
What you can post
- Text up to 63,206 characters.
- Up to 10 images, or 1 video. A video can't be combined with images.
- Extra parts of a post are published as comments under the post.
Connect your account
- In the sidebar, click + Add next to Channels. Only workspace owners and admins can add channels.
- Choose Facebook.
- Click Continue to Facebook, sign in and choose the Pages to share with Postline.
- Postline adds every Facebook Page you shared as a separate channel. Remove the ones you don't need.
For self-hosters
- Create a Meta app with Facebook Login for Business.
- Register this redirect URL:
{APP_URL}/api/channels/oauth/facebook/callback - Set
FACEBOOK_APP_IDandFACEBOOK_APP_SECRET.FACEBOOK_GRAPH_VERSIONsets the Graph API version (defaultv23.0). - Submit the app for Meta App Review. Until it's approved, only the app's own test users can connect it.
Facebook downloads media from its public URL, so APP_URL/uploads/... (or your S3 public URL) must be reachable from the internet.
Analytics and plugs
Postline collects reactions (shown as likes), comments and shares per post, and tracks the Page's follower count.
Plugs:
- Auto-repost: not supported.
- Follow-up: supported. Postline adds a follow-up comment once the post reaches the number of likes you set.
Known issues
- Facebook posts can have one video, or images only.
- Facebook downloads media from a public URL. If Postline serves files from a local address, the post fails with a message asking you to deploy Postline to a public address or use S3 storage.
- If you don't share any Page while signing in, you see "No Facebook Pages were shared. Reconnect and select at least one Page."
- The server's Meta app needs App Review before people outside the app's test users can connect.
