Postline has two LinkedIn integrations: LinkedIn for your personal profile, and LinkedIn Page for company pages you administer.

#What you can post

• Text up to 3,000 characters.
• Up to 9 images, or 1 video. A video can't be combined with images.
• Extra parts of a post are published as comments under the post. Each comment can be up to 3,000 characters.
• Per-post setting for personal profiles: Who can see it (Anyone or Connections only). The default is Anyone. LinkedIn Pages always post publicly.

#Personal profile

1. In the sidebar, click + Add next to Channels. Only workspace owners and admins can add channels.
2. Choose LinkedIn.
3. Click Continue to LinkedIn, sign in on LinkedIn and allow access.

#Company pages

1. In the sidebar, click + Add next to Channels.
2. Choose LinkedIn Page.
3. Click Continue to LinkedIn Page, sign in on LinkedIn and allow access.
4. Postline adds every LinkedIn page where you are an administrator, as separate channels.

#For self-hosters

1. Create a LinkedIn app with the products "Sign In with LinkedIn using OpenID Connect" and "Share on LinkedIn".
2. For LinkedIn Pages, also add the Community Management API product to the same app.
3. Register these redirect URLs:
   • {APP_URL}/api/channels/oauth/linkedin/callback
   • {APP_URL}/api/channels/oauth/linkedin-page/callback
4. Set LINKEDIN_CLIENT_ID and LINKEDIN_CLIENT_SECRET. LINKEDIN_API_VERSION sets the LinkedIn API version (default 202601).

Until LinkedIn approves your app, only the app's own test users can connect it.

#Analytics and plugs

• LinkedIn Page: Postline collects likes and comments per post. It does not track follower counts.
• LinkedIn (personal profile): Postline doesn't collect analytics for personal LinkedIn profiles yet.

Plugs:

• LinkedIn Page: auto-repost (Postline reshares the page's post to its followers) and follow-up (a comment under the post) are both supported.
• LinkedIn (personal profile): plugs aren't available, because they need like counts.

#Known issues

• LinkedIn allows one video per post, without images.
• If LinkedIn can't process a video, the post fails with "LinkedIn could not process the video."
• Postline escapes the characters LinkedIn treats as formatting (\ | { } @ [ ] ( ) < > # * _ ~), so your text appears as you typed it.
• When the access token expires, Postline refreshes it if LinkedIn provided a refresh token. Otherwise you see "LinkedIn access expired. Reconnect the channel." and need to reconnect.
• Connecting LinkedIn Page fails with "You are not an administrator of any LinkedIn page." if your account doesn't administer a page.
